Take the World
I am absolutely obsessed with Girl Meets World.
It’s a Disney show and I’m definitely not in the age range it’s “recommended” for, but I don’t care. It’s perfect. Every single episode is heartwarming and funny and inspiring. GMW makes me laugh hysterically, it motivates me to tell stories, and most of all, it inspires me to step out into the world and decide what kind of person I want to be.
The show’s main message is to take the world and make it your own, something that’s especially pertinent to me in this stage of life. This sentiment can relate to your career, sure; that’s primarily how I relate it to myself. That’s why I have a Post-it above my desk bearing GMW’s words of advice.
But more than that, it’s about the kind of person you’re becoming.
I’m becoming a strong woman. I have opinions. I have a voice. I have a career. I’m healing. I’m growing. I’m moving forward. And most days, I really like the person I’m becoming.
So go ahead. This is my message to you:
It’s time to take the world and make it your own.
